2018 is the Year of Restoration!
This year is very special, just as every year is unique, beautiful, and sovereignly crafted by our Divine Potter, our Sovereign Savior, and our Sustaining Spirit.
We heard our Father say, “This is a year of restoration!”
God will heal many lives this year, and he will usher in many souls to his family.
He will awaken his people wherever they have lost vision, and he will draw many wandering in darkness towards his shining light.
We heard our Father say, “You will see restoration unfold this year in three ways: repositioning, realignment, and resurrection.”
Some of God’s people are in the wrong place, so this year, he will reposition us into a new place.
Others have been in the right place for a season of their lives, and this year that season comes to an end. Our Father will move us to our next assignment with fresh vision.
Some of God’s people are planted in the right soils, but they are facing the wrong direction. This year, our Father will realign us towards the right path that he has prepared for our faith journey.
Still others of God’s children are currently investing their lives and treasures in pursuits that seem good or strategic, but ultimately they lead to spiritual death.
This year, our Lord will shine his light on those hidden idols of our hearts to expose them.
Once exposed, he will grant us spiritual clarity to see these idols and the hidden rebellion and poisonous pride to which we were previously blind or deaf.
The Holy Spirit will teach us how to repent, to ask forgiveness, and to renounce their control and influence over our hearts.
We will receive forgiveness and a new hope. We will leap courageously into an unpredictable adventure with Jesus Christ’s Holy Spirit.
The word we received for Restoration is Galatians 4:1-7.
“Now I say that as long as the heir is a child, he differs in no way from a slave, though he is the owner of everything. Instead, he is under guardians and stewards until the time set by his father. In the same way we also, when we were children, were in slavery under the elemental forces of the world. When the time came to completion, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!” So you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.” (HCSB)
This passage teaches us to view our position in heaven and earth as God’s adopted sons and daughters, and anointed, eternal heirs in Jesus’ coming kingdom.
Father, thank you for visiting us in hell’s slave market and purchasing our freedom with your Beloved Messiah Son’s blood.
No one has ever suffered like Jesus Christ. It is our joy and delight to share in his suffering because we love you, and we want every soul to hear your name, discover your majesty, and worship you forever in the endless waves of ages to come.
Father, help us see how you are restoring us. Please give us eyes to perceive your restoration work in our lives, in our communities, in our cities, and in all nations!
The word we received for Repositioning is Acts 16:6-10.
“They travelled through the region of Phrygia and Galatia because the Holy Spirit did not let them preach the message in the province of Asia. When they reached the border of Mysia, they tried to go into the province of Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them. So they travelled right on through Mysia and went to Troas. That night, Paul had a vision in which he saw a Macedonian standing and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us!” As soon as Paul had the vision, we got ready to leave for Macedonia, because we decided that God had called us to preach the Good News to the people there.” (GNB)
This passage teaches us that our time, plans, and resources cannot rest on manmade strategies and innovative ideas. As your Word says, “If we say we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with your Spirit.”
Father, we repent of our great ideas and crafted tools. We make our plans, but you direct our steps. So, we surrender our plans and lay them down at your feet, Master.
Please teach us how you are repositioning us. Where do you want us to move? Where are you already at work, Lord? For wherever you are, that’s where we long to be.
The word we received for Realignment is Colossians 3:12-17.
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” (NIV)
This passage teaches us that Jesus Messiah’s kingdom fruit is above and beyond anything we can produce or count.
You are compassion. You are patience. You are love. You are unity. You are peace.
Father, please teach us how you are realigning us with your heart, recalibrating our minds with your holy will. We stand ready for pruning. Have your way, Wonderful Counselor, oh have your way in us, Messiah Glory King.
The word we received for Resurrection is Isaiah 61:4-11.
“They will rebuild the old ruins, raise a new city out of the wreckage. They will start over on the ruined cities, take the rubble left behind and make it new. You will hire outsiders to herd your flocks and foreigners to work your fields, but you will have the title, “Priests of God,” honored as ministers of our God. You will feast on the bounty of nations, you will bask in their glory. Because you got a double dose of trouble and more than your share of contempt, your inheritance in the land will be doubled and your joy go on forever. Because I, God, love fair dealing and hate thievery and crime, I will pay your wages on time and in full, and establish my eternal covenant with you. Your descendants will become well-known all over. Your children in foreign countries will be recognized at once as the people I have blessed.” I will sing for joy in God, explode in praise from deep in my soul! He dressed me up in a suit of salvation, he outfitted me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom who puts on a tuxedo and a bride a jeweled tiara. For as the earth bursts with spring wildflowers, and as a garden cascades with blossoms, so the Master, God, brings righteousness into full bloom and puts praise on display before the nations.” (MSG)
This passage teaches us that our Father has already promised to awaken our hearts, shape our minds, heal our lands, and unify all nations around his glorious presence.
Father, you are our Great Commission Architect. You are our Devastated City Redeemer. You are our Every Nation Rescuer.
Father, please teach us how you are raising the dead to life. Expose our idols, touch our blind eyes, sing into our deaf ears, and breathe over our dry bones.
We receive the fullness of your flowing resurrection life river into our lives, our marriages, our households, our family vineyards, our communities, our cities, our states, our nations, our regions, our world, our generation.
Please, God, baptize the earth in your glory. You’re welcome in all the earth, Father. You’re welcome in this beautiful world you created.
We are ready for you to finish what you started millennia past, and we are ready to step by faith into whatever you have prepared for us to receive in the future.
Let the nations surrender their banners at your feet in Jesus’ name! Let all world governments kneel at your throne in Jesus’ name! Let all remaining enemy strongholds be crushed and obliterated from memory in Jesus’ name! Let every voice in every tribe sing praises in every language in Jesus’ name!
Thank you for giving us the name “Restoration” for 2018. We stand ready to witness this year unfold before our eyes, a glorious story we have never heard before; a life-changing tale we could never imagine in our wildest dreams. We love you, Lord.
Though we are prone to wander, here’s our hearts, Lord. Take, and seal them for your heavenly courts above in Jesus’ name, amen.
+++++
Thanks for listening, and thank you for all the love, prayers, and support.
Let’s keep making healthy disciples in every nation until there’s No Place Left.
I could not concentrate much. But the litte I read was great!
