Thanksgiving 2018 Letter

Today on Thanksgiving, your Blazing Trees family is actively praying, asking God for these three blessings for you and your family.

Rest

First, we want rest for our Blazing Trees family. Psalm 62:1-2 teaches us about rest, “I am at rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will never be shaken.” (CSB)

We live in busy times. We are all witnessing an acceleration of distractions and a devastating competition for our time. Daily rest is just about impossible these days. Fortunately, what is impossible for man is so easy for God. We want rest for our friends, rest that is refreshing and restorative. We want you to see that rest is freely available every moment in the presence of God. We want you to experience this rest all of your days; to cease from striving and enjoy his rest.

Trust

Second, we want trust for our Blazing Trees family. Psalm 28:7 teaches us about trust, “The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped; therefore, my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise him.” (NKJV)

Trust flows from rest. As we rest in our Father’s arms and experience his promises and power, our trust begins to flourish. We begin to depend once more upon the God of our forefathers, our Creator and Sustainer, the Shepherd and Overseer of our souls, the Navigator of our life journey, the Wonderful Counselor of our daily decisions. We want you to trust God, to depend alone upon him with every breath.

courage

Courage

Third, we want courage for our Blazing Trees family. Second Corinthians 12:10 teaches us about courage, “Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size – abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.” (MSG)

Courage flows from trust. Because we rest in God alone, and because we trust our Father to take care of us, our courage blazes brightly through the darkest of nights. Even when we walk through Death’s shadow, we are not afraid. Our God is greater, our God is stronger. We want John Baptizer’s anointing: less of me, more of the Holy Spirit. We want you to embrace your weaknesses and persevere to the end of days. We are never alone, we are free in Christ, and every challenge we face is worth it all to bring glory, honor, praise, and renown to our Beloved King. Glory, hallelujah! Hosanna in the highest!

Thanksgiving Prayer

Father, we release these three thanksgiving blessings over our  Blazing Trees family today with power and authority in the name of Jesus: blessings of rest, trust, and courage. Thank you for providing for us and protecting our loved ones, and for all that you have taught us. We delight in your presence and love for us, and we move forward together, side by side, with one heart and one mind in Jesus’ name, amen. Maranatha!
